Privacy policy
WAPlatform is operated by Saasland Limited. This policy explains what personal data the service handles, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Saasland Limited is a company incorporated in the United Kingdom, with its registered office at 124 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2N. As a UK controller we handle personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Saasland Limited operates WAPlatform, a shared WhatsApp inbox for teams. For the purposes of data protection law we act as a controller for the data described under “Data we collect about you”, and as a processor for the message content our customers handle through the product.
Data we collect about you
Beta invite requests
If you ask for a beta invite we use the email address you give us, and the company name if you choose to provide one, for a single purpose: to contact you about the beta. We do not sell it, we do not add it to an unrelated marketing list, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
Account and workspace data
If your team joins the beta we hold the information needed to run your workspace: names, email addresses and roles of the people you invite, your WhatsApp Business account identifiers, and your configuration such as assignment rules, labels and automation flows.
Message content
The product exists to handle conversations, so it necessarily processes the messages exchanged between your team and your customers, along with the phone numbers and profile names WhatsApp supplies. We handle that content on your instructions in order to provide the service. Your customers’ relationship is with you, and you are responsible for having a lawful basis to message them.
Technical data
Our servers keep standard operational logs, including IP address, browser user agent and timestamps, so we can keep the service running and investigate abuse and faults.
Cookies and analytics
This marketing site sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party tracking or analytics scripts. The application itself uses a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in.
AI processing
Features described as AI agents or suggested replies send the relevant conversation content to a model provider so a response can be generated. That content is processed to produce your result and is not used to train third-party foundation models. You can leave those features switched off, in which case no conversation content is sent to a model provider.
WhatsApp and Meta
WAPlatform is built on the official WhatsApp Business API. Message delivery therefore involves Meta as an independent party, under its own terms and privacy policy. Meta also bills conversation fees directly to you.
How long we keep data
- Beta invite requests: until the beta closes, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Workspace and message data: for as long as your account is active.
- After an account closes: deleted or anonymised within 90 days, unless the law requires us to keep a record for longer.
- Operational logs: retained for a rolling period and then discarded.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a portable copy. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address below. We do not charge for this and we aim to respond within one month, as the law requires.
If you think we have handled your data badly you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. If you are in the EEA you may complain to your local supervisory authority instead.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access by our staff is limited to those who need it to operate or support the service, and is logged. No system is perfectly secure, so if a breach affects your data we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
Changes
The service is in closed beta and this policy will change as it develops. If we make a material change we will tell beta participants by email rather than quietly editing this page.
